Bad day

Last night started off our bad day. We were at Babies R Us, and we were in the checkout line and realized Livvy had a poopy diaper. I took her to the Mother's Room to change her rather than the bathroom because of privacy. It was coming out the back, and the sides. It was everywhere. While I'm trying to take her clothes off she's trying to roll and is fighting me. Which naturally makes it worse. Finally I got her mostly cleaned off in the important areas and let her get on her tummy so I could clean her back. Bad move. She decided she needed to pee as well. All over the counter top. So I had to sit her up, wipe her down, hold her (trying not to get anything on me), mop up the counter top with her dirty onesie, wipe said top down with a baby wipe. Then I put her back down, managed to get a diaper on, and get her dressed in the sleep sack. Ah! But that wasn't the last of our adventure!
She woke up just before 5:30 this morning to eat. Well, she thought she was hungrier than she was and ate too much. Hence, it comes out the way it went in. Utilizing the monitor I called for Rich to get in there because I needed his help (I'm glad I didn't have to really yell for him). He comes stumbling in from a dead sleep, I told him she's puking and to get a towel. He brings one in and I hand her to him once she's done to calm her down, and change her clothes while I started cleaning up the mess. So I started a load of laundry because there were blankets and some clothes that got all icky. Then I got out the mini-carpet cleaner machine and cleaned the chair as best I could, as well as the carpet. That gives you an idea of how bad it was.
Today the poor little thing was gassy and was very grumpy. I'm lucky, this is only the second time in her nearly 5 months on earth that she's had gas. She feels better now and is sleeping peacefully. I'm sure all the moms reading this are laughing because I"m pretty sure they've had times like this many times over. Probably in a day or two once I've had a change to sleep good I'll laugh about it too.

  1. I would have burst into tears at Babies R Us, you must be stronger than I am :) Hope she's feeling better.

  2. I was frustrated, but she was the one crying. Poor baby. I was trying to get her calmed down as well as I could. She's feeling lots better today. She was pretty happy.
