First tooth

Yay! So i noticed this morning that Olivia has her first tooth, finally! I was putting her in her high chair and she gave me one of her big grins and I noticed that the tooth finally came through. I'm excited. I'm sure it must've come through overnight because I didn't notice it yesterday.

OUCH!!

Yesterday while we were getting ready for church, way earlier than usual, I was in the bathroom and Rich was in the bedroom with Livvy and she was playing on our bed. She was crawling around, tried to climb onto my nightstand, and fell!! She hit her head on it somewhere. It really freaked Rich out because apparently the way her head went he thought she might've hurt her neck. I rushed into the room because I heard a thunk! and Rich yelling her name in a panic. He picked her up and started comforting her, I got the Tylenol and gave her some. We checked her eyes to make sure she didn't have a concussion, and after she calmed down she was wiggling and all that, so we knew she didn't have a serious injury. She did have a huge goose-egg bump on her head, with a sore. She was very cuddly and clingy for awhile afterwards. I loved that! I don't get to cuddle her much because she wants to move all the time. Today she is doing fine, no more bump, just an ouchie.

So big!

I can't believe how big Olivia is getting. Last night she went to bed early. When she does that we sometimes wake her for a little bit before we put her back to bed. We usually give her a bottle when we do that, so that she doesn't wake at 4 am hungry. She sleeps better, and so do we. Well, when I woke her up, I fed her some cereal and let her play. While she was playing I was sitting on the couch and she was crawling around. She came up to the couch and pulled herself to a standing position. She then got really mad because she was trying to climb onto the couch to sit with me and couldn't, she can barely see over the edge of it. She's a clever little thing and can always make me smile when I'm grumpy (unless she's grumpy herself). Her favorite food is bananas, then applesauce and pears. She also eats peas (yep, she likes a green food), carrots, and squash! She'll eat green beans and sweet potatoes if I stir in a splash of apple juice. I usually have to add a little bit of cereal when I do that to thicken it back up. She likes just about any fruit combo thing so far.
Tonight we were babysitting Logan (who is 2) for a friend so that she could have a date night with her husband. He started off pouting and grumpy, but started to have fun after awhile. He calls every man "daddy" and every woman "mommy". He was really cute with Livvy. She was in the Jumparoo (which we happened to get from this same friend, as well as some other stuff) and he went over to her and started handing toys TO her! It was so cute!

The last week or so

So, last Saturday Rich's dad, Richard, was still in town. Saturday we went to the Aerospace Museum at Balboa Park. That place is pretty cool. The afternoon we spent at home and Richard went and did a little shopping on his own. Then in the evening we hopped on the Trolley and went to the Padres vs. Pirates game. Padres got their butts whooped. It was fun anyway. We left in the top of the 8th inning, that's how bad they sucked. Olivia fell asleep, in my arms. She slept until we got onto the Trolley and there was a loud bang that woke her up. Sunday, Richard and I went to Sacrament meeting, and then did some shopping. I can't remember what else we did. It was a good day anyway.
Monday, the 27th, me and Richard flew to Utah together. It was a big help to have him help with everything since Olivia went too. She did really good, went to sleep not long after I buckled her car seat in, and didn't wake up until we started the descent. I rented a car. I had actually reserved a compact but they didn't have anymore so I got a mini-van at no extra cost. It was a little difficult to drive at first since I'm not used to such a large vehicle, but I got used to it. Drove Richard home, then went to my parents' house to see the fam. While we were there, my brother Steve started to cry because his son Jack has CP, and to see how well Livvy can do things that Jack can't is hard on him. I love Jack, and it is hard to see the developmental differences. Then we went to Rich's mom's house and stayed the night. Tuesday we went to a few of the libraries to see people. Didn't have time to go to every one of them. Then we went and got to meet Sydney and her family. We had a lot of fun. Livvy enjoyed playing with Holden. We even went to the mall and she had her first taste of ice cream, and some Gerber baby snacks.
We spent the night at Judy's again. Then on Wednesday, we went and got Jeanette. Me and Jeanette got haircuts. Then we went to lunch at Olive Garden. After lunch we went to her house and just talked, and Bethany came over. Livvy took a nap on the to and at OG. Then again at the house. That evening I went to dinner with mom, and Livvy took another nap. I stayed the night at my parents' house, and Livvy got to bed at her usual time. Thursday my cousin Brianna got married, which was the main reason we were in Utah. We went to the Temple for pictures, then went and visiting Rich's grandma and grandpa Dyreng for a few minutes. Then to the wedding Luncheon, Livvy fell asleep on the way there, and for some of the meal. Then we went back to Dyreng's and visited some more, and Livvy played and took another nap. Afterwards we went to the reception at La Caille. Fancy place. Livvy didn't sleep well that night. Sometime that day we both had colds that kicked in. I think the dry Utah weather dries us out so much that we get sick now. It happened back at Thanksgiving too. Friday we flew home to San Diego, and this time I had to do it all myself. It was difficult, but we managed. She again went to sleep not long after buckling her in. And she woke up just before we started the descent. I won't get my hopes up that she'll travel so well every time, but at least it was good this time. Today we are having a veg at home day while Rich is on duty. He picked up someone's duty for tomorrow too, because the guy is going to give him money to do it. The guy that I vented about in my last post has finally decided to start paying us back the money he owes. It'll be a little bit each check for the next 3 or so. We'd rather have it all at once, but better that we're getting it at all.
